Encodes a cytoplasmic localized atypical F box protein belonging to the TIR1 subfamily. This protein forms SCF complexes with ASK1 and CUL1 and interacts with Aux/IAA proteins in an auxin-dependent manner. CUL1 binding is not required for AFB1-triggered rapid root growth inhibition.Localization to cytoplasm is dependent upon F-box domain. It also has sequence similarity to the yeast protein GRR1, which is involved in glucose repression.
